Edward Frank Lewis, veteran
Edward "Ed" Frank Lewis, 81, died May 23 at home in Warrenton. He was born in Chelsea, Mass., on June 4, 1926.
A World War II veteran, he moved to Ohio in 1959, where he worked at Ford's Lorain Assembly Plant in material handling, retiring in 1988. He moved shortly thereafter to Ocala, Fla.
Mr. Lewis is survived by sons William of Mogador, Ohio, Rick of Lorain, Ohio, Edward of Michigan, James of Washington State, and David of Virginia, and a daughter, Carol Cantey, also of Virginia; 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Eileen Dorsey, and a brother John, both of Boston, Mass.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Rosalie (nee Servitelli), son Georgie, parents, Albert and Elizabeth Lewis (nee Petras), brothers William and Albert Lewis, and sister Mary Drover.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at St Mary's Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermillion, Ohio. It will be followed at 11:30 a.m. by a military memorial and reception for family and friends at AMVETS, Post 22, 1517 State Route 60 in Vermillion. Burial will be private for the family at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst OH 44001.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St., Vermillion OH 44089.
