Virginia Commerce Bank employees give back

Virginia Commerce Bank marked its 20th anniversary this year. To celebrate, each branch identified local charities they could help, above and beyond the various non-profits and communities VCB has helped and been involved with for the last 20 years. Employees from each branch volunteered on their own time to support the charity of their choice.

The Signal Hill branch of Virginia Commerce Bank helped out at the Special Olympics Track and Field Meet at Hylton High school on May 17. More than 150 athletes came from all over Northern Virginia to compete and eight representatives from Virginia Commerce Bank volunteered to serve in whatever way was needed.

The Manassas Battlefield branch of Virginia Commerce Bank began its assistance in May, launching Making the Difference to assist 12 families with 22 children for SERVE. of Prince William. To date they have made two trips, providing items including canned goods, home health care products, clothing, blankets, gift cards to food stores, checks, games, socks, underwear, school supplies, cleaning products, paper towels and first aid items.

The Lake Ridge branch of Virginia Commerce Bank chose The House in Woodbridge, which serves both handicapped and troubled youth. VCB Lake Ridge helped prepare the building for the evening's arrivals, by cleaning, organizing, helping prepare beverages, setting up for the evening dinner and helping to prepare for The House’s annual Cinderella Ball.
