Student musicians keep the music playing

The young musicians attending Prince William County’s Concert and Percussion Music Camps will hold a joint concert on Friday, July 18. The performance is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Gainesville Middle School, 8001 Limestone Drive in Gainesville.

Concert Band Camp and Percussion Camp, now in their sixth year, will begin on July 14 and conclude with the July 18 concert. Student musicians with at least one year of experience are eligible to attend the camp. Summer enrichment programs such as this one provide students with an opportunity to maintain and build their skills, prepare for fall auditions, and have a good time playing music.

Another music camp for jazz band musicians will take place July 21–25. These young performers will hold their concert on July 25 at 1 p.m. at Gainesville Middle School.

For more information on music camp opportunities available in the county, visit the music page on the Prince William County Public Schools Web site at pwcs.edu/music/.
