Five officers complete experienced officer training

The Prince William Police Department has taken on five new officers who have completed Experienced Officer Training through the Prince William County Criminal Justice Academy. They are:• Officer Anthony L. Capizzi,• Officer Brandon J. Fields,• Officer Kevin P. Neiswonger,• Officer Jonathan L. Perok, and• Officer Daniel J. Rasey.They are the latest Prince William County police officers who were sworn in today under a program designed to let experienced police officers – who already hold Virginia law enforcement certification – attend an abbreviated training session at the Academy.Officer Capizzi, 35, was formerly with the Fairfax County police department and served with the Army National Guard. He is married with three children and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is a trained paramedic. Officer Capizzi will be assigned to work patrol in eastern Prince William County.Officer Fields, 28, was formerly with the Fauquier County sheriff’s office. He attended Northern Virginia Community College, and formerly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Officer Fields will be assigned to work patrol in eastern Prince William County.Officer Neiswonger, 25, was formerly with the Chesterfield County police department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Officer Neiswonger comes from a long line of law enforcement officers; his grandfather is a retired corporal with the Pennsylvania State Police, his father is a retired trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police, two of his uncles are troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police, and his brother is a police officer with the Conewango Township (Penn.) police department. Officer Neiswonger will be assigned to work patrol in western Prince William County.Officer Perok, 24, was formerly with the Fairfax County police department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management (with a minor in criminal justice) from Longwood University in Farmville. He has a cousin who is a lieutenant with the Richmond police department. Officer Perok will be assigned to work patrol in western Prince William County.
