Arrests and incidents reported by police on July 1

 

Murder arrest

On 07-01-08, at approximately 10:40 a.m. the police responded to the
6400 block of
Davis Ford Road in Manassas to investigate a domestic
dispute between a father and a son. The investigation revealed that
they were involved in a physical altercation. The father was
transported to a local hospital and he died shortly after
12:00 p.m.
The suspect has been identified and is in custody. He has been
identified as Ryan James Stephenson, 22, of
Davis Ford Road. Ryan
James Stephenson has been charged with murder. He is being held without
bond and he has a scheduled court date of
August 15, 2008. The deceased
has been identified as James Dale Stephenson, 46, with the same
address. The investigation continues.


Incidents

Attempted Strong-Arm Robbery, occurred on
June 29, 2008, around 1:55
p.m.
in the 7800 block of Community Drive in Manassas. The victim, a
16-year-old male from
Manassas was attacked in a robbery attempt. The
victim reported that he was riding his bicycle and the suspects blocked
his path. One of the suspects demanded he give up his property. Then
all three suspects began to punch the victim in his face. The suspects
are described as three Black males between 17-18-years-old. The first
suspect was wearing a green t-shirt and beige shorts. The second
suspect was wearing a wave cap (doo-rag), a black button-up shirt, and
black shorts. The third suspects had dreadlocks. The suspects left the
scene in a white sedan. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Grand Larceny of Auto, occurred between
June 25, 2008, around 12:00 p.m.
and
June 27, 2008, around 12:00 p.m. in the 12000 block of Dumfries Road
in
Manassas. A 1988, Ford, Mustang, 4-door, gray in color, valued at
$1,500 was stolen. The victim had parked his vehicle at his uncle's
residence.

Grand Larceny from Auto, occurred between
June 26, 2008, around 7:00
p.m. and
June 27, 2008, around 6:00 a.m. in the 8000 unit block of
Ashland Avenue in Manassas. A catalytic converter valued at $350 was
removed and stolen from a 1990
Toyota, 4-Runner, SUV. A second victim
also had a catalytic converter valued at $350 removed and stolen from a
1993,
Toyota, 4-Runner. Both victims had parked their vehicles in the
apartment parking building.

Attempted Statutory Burglary, occurred on
June 30, 2008, around 11:04
a.m.
in the 2100 block of Patrick Street in Woodbridge. The victim
reported that she observed two unknown suspects attempting to gain entry
into her residence. The suspects left the scene when they noticed that
the house was occupied. The suspects are described as two Hispanic
males, between 16 and 20 years old. The first suspect was wearing a red
striped shirt, blue jeans, and gloves. The second suspect was wearing
a red shirt, blue jeans and had a black backpack. The suspects did not
gain entry into the house.

Statutory Burglary, occurred between
June 27, 2008, around 4:00 p.m. and
June 30, 2008, around 8:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Old Bridge Road in
Woodbridge. Cash was stolen from a dentist's office. Entry was gained
by forcing the front door open.
